THEME OF THE PROJECT
Goods and Services Around Us
By the end of this project, the students will be able to:
Identify factors influencing buying decisions
Prioritize factors influencing buying decisions
Identify resources involved in production of various goods and services
Explain factors influencing demand and supply
Create demand and supply charts
Compare incentives used by suppliers
1ST STAGE OF THE PROJECT
Informed decision checklist
Students complete a collaborative document with decision making criteria for a variety of goods and services. Students are expected to make multiple contributions to each good/service column of the collaborative document.
2ND STAGE OF THE PROJECT
Each week, students make individual contributions to a compound list of resources needed for the production of goods and services they explored on Stage 1. Students are expected to make multiple contributions to each good/service column of the collaborative document.
3RD STAGE OF THE PROJECT
Demand and supply chart
Students create a demand and supply chart for one good or service from previous stages of the project. Each student is responsible for a specific scenario, and by the end of this stage, the class will have collected multiple demand and supply charts for a variety of scenarios.
4TH STAGE OF THE PROJECT
On the first stage of this project (weeks 13 and 15), the students discuss advantages and disadvantages of several types of advertisements, incentives, and sales channels. They write down their thoughts in a collaborative document.
On the second stage of this project (final week), each student selects one good or service from stages 1-3 and creates a marketing plan for it.
