THEME OF THE PROJECT

21 Century Explorer’s Kit: Online Tools for Gathering Information

Purpose

By the end of this project, the students will be able to:

Explain the principles of digital citizenship
Follow the rules of netiquette during online discussions
Utilize effective discussion skills
Start a discussion thread
Participate in a discussion on a discussion board
Create and share video responses
Create and share a questionnaire on Google Forms
Analyze the data gathered with forms
Represent form data using text, sheets, and slides

1ST STAGE OF THE PROJECT

Digital Citizenship Comic Book

Students complete a collaborative comic book template with ideas about digital citizenship.

2ND STAGE OF THE PROJECT

We Have Something to Discuss

Each student creates a discussion thread about a topic related to digital citizenship and invites others to reply. Text and video-based threads are accepted.

3RD STAGE OF THE PROJECT

My First Survey

Students create and send out a form based on the topic of their discussion thread. They gather responses and feedback from peers and present the form data as a chart and a text summary.

4TH STAGE OF THE PROJECT

Things I Have Learned

Students present the information they gathered during stages 2 and 3 in a collaborative slide deck.
