"This course is designed to go over the fundamental basics of geography as well as introducing a small number of interconnected historical and social components. Students will study the New Seven World Wonders, basic landforms, continents, oceans, time zones, topography, maps and global positioning essentials.

The New Seven Wonders of the World
The Earth's Hemispheres
The World's Oceans
Lines on the Globe
Latitude and Longitude
What is Topography
Topographic Relief Maps
Basic Climate Mapping
THEME OF THE PROJECT
New World Wonders Purpose; By the end of the project the students will have developed and used: research skills (internet/library); interpersonal communication and debating skills; analytical report writing
1ST STAGE OF THE PROJECT
In the first stage of the project students must choose two World Wonders and begin to create a geographical report of the GPS location and time zone, any specific landforms associated with the Wonder, the country/continent and culture.
2ND STAGE OF THE PROJECT
The students must choose two more World Wonders and write a report in the same manner as the first stage.
3RD STAGE OF THE PROJECT
Two more World Wonders must be reported about in the same way as the first two stages of the team project.
4TH STAGE OF THE PROJECT
The final stage dictates that the students write a final report about the remaining World Wonder in the same way as the first six. Then the students must research and agree upon a potentially new World Wonder to replace one of the current World Wonders. A report must be written as for the real World Wonders and at least three reasons for the choice must be given.
